I am very excited to announce our JUNE 2021 Featured Author Spotlight:

The Talented Paranormal & Contemporary Authoress

S.C. Winters

She is authoress of the following books:

Runes of Time

Depth of Deception

Revenge (Dead Cold)

Love on a Train

SE: When did you start writing & How long have you been writing?

SCW: I started writing when I was ten. I have two younger siblings and we moved a lot growing up so I was always trying to make the moves more of an adventure. When we would be told we were moving I would start writing a story that we were on a secret mission, or that a prince or princess needed help saving her kingdom. Once there was even a story about pandas needing help to save the world.

SE: What is your very first published book?

SCW: My first official publishing was August 13th, 2018 under my original pen name Alexis Winters. It has now been republished as Runes of Destiny under S.C. Winters.

SE: What do you love the most about writing?

SCW: I love that I can create characters that can be your best friend. I went through a lot of trials growing up and I did not always feel adequate or that I was up to standard to the expectations of myself, my family, or others. So, I did a lot of things I probably should not have, but in all of that I created characters that you can relate to and hopefully love as much as I do.

SE: Where do you draw your inspiration from when you write?

SCW: My inspirations come from the world around me. I do have some that come from family and friends, but the majority are from the places I have lived, the people I have interacted with and what is going on in the world around me.

SE: What is your biggest pet peeve as an author?

SCW: When I have to many stories in my head. I also hate that people demand books out at a certain time. I know as a reader I hate waiting for series to complete, but now as an author I know there is a process that takes a while to complete.

SE: What is your biggest challenge as an author?

SCW: Staying focused on one story. I am constantly thinking up of new ideas, series and voices wanting to be written. I do get sidetracked and it can cause a lot of here and there but I wouldn’t change them for the world.

SE: What is your biggest reward as an author?

SCW: When a reader or author tells me that the story talks about what they are going through and helped them. My biggest thing about my stories is not about the money, do not get me wrong it would be nice, but I just want my stories and characters to give someone a voice who may not have had one. I want them to be able to give a person someone they can relate to and share with the world. Even if their world is one person.

SE: How do you handle writer’s block?

SCW: Writer’s block usually turns into multiple story ideas, music blaring and just doing chores. If I keep my brain on other things and keep it tasked focus, it usually works out what I can’t figure out. Or my Alpha Queen, Kelly Bulger, talks me off of a ledge by not deleting 10k or more words of work.

SE: If you could have any job in the world, what would it be and why?

SCW: I have always loved children, so I would teach. I would want to teach creative writing and reading. Show the new generation that a screen isn’t your only escape. If you have a great imagination, a good book and a lot of love, you can go anywhere. Plus it would also let me, possibly, introduce a new generation into Dungeons and Dragons.

SE: If you were granted one wish, what would it be and why?

SCW: My wish would be that no ones voice wasn’t heard. No matter what is going on in life, that if you are going through the good, bad or ugly you know that we are all behind you and are willing to fight for you.

SE: Do you write in any other genre(s)? If so, which one(s)?

SCW: I currently write in many other genres. I have Lexi Mills, which is more Romance. I have Rayven Nightshade, which is darker and horror like. I have a secret one that I am not ready to share just yet, but they write suspense, thrillers and mystery with a twist of romance.

SE: Do you have any new book releases?

SCW: I am currently writing and editing book 3 of the De Danann Series- Runes that Bind. But Lexi Mills has her debut Contemporary Romance- Ropes and Racing coming out May 28th.

SE: Do you have any upcoming release(s)? If so, when is the release(s) and what title(s)?

Lexi Mills:

🐎Ropes and Racing 🐂

All I have ever wanted to do is be a jockey. Being a female jockey is hard but I love it. When my parents told me I was retiring to start a family and it wasn't up for discussion. Saying I was pissed was beyond an understatement. When the one person I could always rely on called and asked me to meet him at the local bar. I jumped at the chance. I desperately needed a drink. What came from that drink was so much more than I expected. And I wouldn't change it for the world.

My father is dead and even now he is still controlling everything from the grave. All I have ever wanted was to run 818 Ranch and do what I needed for the family. I can't believe he is taking this from me. What did I ever do to him besides being born! I mean come on man. I am so stressed by the stipulation he put in that I call the only person that gets me. We meet at the local bar and what comes next is unexpected.

Having my world turned upside down with the passing of my mother. Nothing could get worse. That was until the love of my life left me not long after. It has been two years since that day and to say hatred is still in my heart is an understatement. My father and my best friend, Aleric, are trying all they can to get me out of this slump, but it only gets worse when HE comes back into town and back in my life.

That is when the real shit starts. A legend that has been passed through the generations is finally coming true. And guess who is in the middle of it? Yup, you guessed right. Me. Why in the Great Mother's name is it me??

***This series is a slow burn reverse harem***

After the death of her mother and the loss of her love, almost a year ago, Viola isn’t really in the Halloween spirit. Which is odd, because it is her favorite holiday. Aleric is going to do his best to get her out of her moping ways and bring some fun back in her life. Between finding a costume, going to a fancy party and a little mischief, can Viola feel like herself again? Or will she just find another reason to mope and be a party pooper? With the help of friends old and new, she might just get her happy back. Until someone unexpected shows back up.
